Pity the Fool

So… the email-gate that was hailed as the deathblow to climate science’s declaration of global warming has now been thoroughly reviewed and the original math and statistics underpinning the messages have been found to be intact and significant (otherwise known as proof of climate change sans any hocus-pocus). Let us all take a moment and re-read the sentence above then call in your family and look them in their faces. We are fully responsible for future generations. And through pure group-think induced ignorance that embraced, and even at times trumpeted, a lack of understanding of the scientific method, an ignorance of basic math and statistics mixed in with a healthy dose of conspiracy paranoia, we’ve lost another year of proper focus being placed towards prioriterizing the research and development that will drive society towards renewable energy – which will literally save our collective asses.

Originally I was angry at the CRU and the email authors. In a past post, I literally called for them to be “exterminated” for allowing this to derail attention from what is important. However, they are scientists and not PR experts. I owe them an apology and even a debt of gratitude.

It is at moments like this that I work to restrain myself in order to increase the chance of allowing my message to soak in. My impulse is to flame everyone and pepper the content with expletives along with a .jpg of a butthole or something. I won’t. All I will do is ask you (“you” being defined as: Conspiracy Theorists, Ultra-right-wing Douche Bags, and Wacked-out Religious Phuckers) to look at your young son or daughter in the eyes and admit to yourself what you’ve done to their future.

I pity the human race based on your existence.

Agreed, again always did. I still find it amusing that the facts are not what is focussed on (really what are facts anyway) but rather the politics. We can identify a problem, thing is nobody wants real solutions. Carbon Tax? Seriously? So you tax people for screwing up the environment – does that save the environment? Nope. It just generates another channel of income for the government.

Remember when state lotteries were created for the EDUCATION SYSTEM? Guess how much of the income from state lotteries actually goes to education? Less than 1%. How much of the taxes collected do you think will go to cleaning up the planet? LOL. Puhlease.

Politicians will continue to pass legislation that will have no effect during their terms. – i.e. they will vote for measures that will go into effect 10 years in the future. It’s all about gettting reelected for politicians….we need 1 term limit so that politicians aren’t worried about actually making change happen.

    LOLOL

Don’t worry about the environment, it will go away.

I theorize that the rest of the planet will stop looking for the Americans to lead the pack regarding necessary change and begin to innovate themselves. This will be a tangible inflection point for us. Although based on my readings, we’ll simply stand arrogantly in our assertion that we won’t be denied the “American way of life – no matter what” as the wheels come off of this bitch.

“Oh say can you see by the dawn’s early light…” (sung while mouth is crammed full of McDonald’s 99 cent cheeseburger).

@Thrax… I was thinking about what you stated regarding carbon tax. I don’t disagree. However, I believe a market system for carbon trading makes sense as an incremental step towards true change.

What bugs me is the arrogant ignorance we (as a country) employ when faced with this topic. If I’m fat and happy, then f-off with your liberal, pinko suggestions mandating changes to my right to be fat and happy. Even though the “freedoms” being enjoyed now will be extrapolated as slavery to the generations of Americans ahead of us when they have no options left to them.

    Such is the human condition.

heh. Where are the logical priorities?

THE UNITED STATES ECONOMY IS A WHOLLY OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF THE EARTH’S ENVIRONMENT. The current mindshare illuminates beliefs reflective of the opposite being true.
