Robert Gibbs, White House Press Secretary, apparently made loads of people mad, most of them being other politicians. How did he do so? He told the TRUTH. Think that through for a minute. A person in power told the truth and that angered politicians. So what did he say? (MSNBC.com)

“I think there’s no doubt there are enough seats in play that could cause Republicans to gain control,” Gibbs said. “This will depend on strong campaigns by Democrats. And again, I think we’ve got to take the issues to them.”

Why is that bad? It is the truth. The Democrats have made a bad set of mistakes in recent times that has endangered the power base of the ruling party in the USA. Somehow, through pathetic pandering, the minority party, that being the Republicans, held the power when American Politics are designed in such a way that that should not occur. It is the job of the minority to keep the majority in check, not tell them what to do. How did they do this? They constantly threatened to filibuster.

The amusing part to Gibbs making that statement is what effect it had and may have, and is the real reason for someone like Nancy Pelosi being so upset. Her official comment was “How could [Gibbs] know what is going on in our districts?” Pelosi told her members Tuesday, per Politico. “Some may weigh his words more than others. We have made our disagreement known to the White House.” The real reason is conjecture, my perspective, shared by many political analysts, is that statements made by powerful officials, be they correct or not, can have an affect on upcoming elections. How so?

Democrats are in danger in the next elections, common knowledge that many Democrats don’t like to talk about. FACT. The many polls taken agree. However there are voters on the fence and making a proclamation that a certain party is in danger can have a self fulfilling prophecy effect, and that my friends is why Pelosi is so angry. Gibbs’ statement could facilitate the very thing the Democrats want to avoid.
