While everyone is distracted with the Gulf Oil disaster (and it is indeed going to be an ever growing crisis) our continued spiral into a complete Fascistic system moves forward.

I can see the implication here. And it is based on the old struggle between free will and more, seemingly, socialistic models of governance.
I’m willing to offer that if the people of this Republic want free will to the degree that it entails the right to smoke, eat crap, and forego exercise to the extent that we’re now facing an epidemic of obesity, diabetes and scientific evidence of the lingering effects of first, second AND third-hand smoke… then I also offer that Insurance groups be able to purposefully exclude anyone over a BMI of greater than 25 or with a cholesterol profile over 220. Now the free-will crowd would cry “unfair” and “anti-American” while fighting over the last remaining oreo cookie.
We can’t have “free will” with a mass of idiots purposefully living lifestyles proven to lead to illness and then (with mouths filled with half-chewed doughnuts) scream about mandated healthcare. This is illogical. This debate has now shifted towards being unfair to those of us who go running every morning at 5:30 and work-out religiously every other day. I must pay increasing monthly premiums because the majority of free-will participants decides McDonalds is more important than anything else and now are suffering the effects of their idiotic decision?!?!
I prefer the Fascistic system to demand behaviors that cut medical expenses. I prefer rules that promote health over illness. A preemptive attack against the stupid. A decisive mandate against long-term suicide that costs everyone else money. True free will is only free will if it doesn’t intrude upon someone else’s free will.
I find it utterly facsinating that a fat ass would wrap himself in the American flag to defend his right to kill himself… but at everyone else’s expense. This seems so socialist in and of itself. How ironic!?!?!
