Heston was a great orator. I think many people misunderstand why we have the Right to Keep and Bear Arms ( aka the 2nd Amendment). It is not to do harm to others, it is to prevent them from doing harm to you.
Sadly the NRA is a shill organization and helped bring into being the first Gun Laws this country had ever seen. http://gunowners.org/ is the real constitutional deal.
Anyone confused, and continually mislead by the MSM, on the Second Amendment, and the constitution in general need only read the writings of some of the founding fathers and signers of said document – Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, etc. People seem to believe the police are personal body guards, when what they are for is when a crime has been committed (don’t have the time to go into the history and “color of law” behind the whole thing), and if you are lucky where you live/are you have a 5 to 15 minute response time to your 9-1-1 call. We are endowed by our creator with the right to protect ourselves, family and property. Government does not “give” anyone rights.
Heston is a “true grit” kind of American. I like him. We, as a culture, seem to enjoy actors that embody our ideals and he effectively has done just that. And this is why I’ll be voting for Debbie from “Debbie does Dallas”…
Affirmative… Police are not for the individual citizen’s protection. They are a re-active force. However, the Precogs knew I was going to write that about “Debbie” and now the Government’s Moral and Ethics Force is enroute to my house.
Also, the NRA is the best we have in line with efforts to defend and protect the 2nd Admendment, so I’m all aboard.
