Empire State Building to honor China in lights?

Article here. I find this sort of amusing only for this reason: The USA likes to tell people that we are trying to spread democracy, of course we aren’t one  as the USA is a Federal Republic, and we are celebrating the birth of the largest Communist nation on the planet. Go figure.

    Real nice! I guess since we owe them so much money, it’s just as easy to light up a building rather than paying them back.

    Jay – that made me chuckle. Most Americans don’t know how much we actually owe China in the way of money.

    In May 2009, the US owed China $772 billion. My family is planning on lighting our Christmas tree in red and yellow lights this year.

    Yeah my understanding is it is over a Trillion, but hey I could be wrong.

    Trillion – wasn’t that the name of the hot character in the Hitchhiker series?
