As we all know there is a disaster of potentially biblical proportion going on in the Gulf of Mexico that includes lots of gushing oil, corporate drama, and political warfare. BP announced just a week ago that they are starting to solve the problem by collecting much of the gushing oil (there is a debate here on actual numbers) and supposedly relieving pressure on the well itself (also a debate there).
Good news! More drama! Apparently two workers have died and one of the robot submersibles collided with a vent on the well and now oil is gushing again! It just keeps getting better folks. This probably makes President Obama just that much happier. We have supplied a picture of his feelings on the matter.

Wait, he has a fix already. Carbon Taxes! Yea! Awesome! Tax the American people, that will fix it. So who has the delivery contract for that oil being sifted from the gulf gusher?
BP has it under control!
I am just happy I don’t live near the Gulf.
scanjack, do you ever have anything to say that doesn’t rigidly follow your bullshit paranoid agenda – ever?
To my knowledge Carbon Taxes are planned (Kyoto Summit). They are already being tested on big business. NPR did a cover story on how some farmers are looking at selling their carbon footprint for non used off season fields to big business as an offset to their footprint. Weird stuff.
Regarding the oil comment – the reading and investigation I have done on that leads me to believe that BP couldn’t really care less on what is going on – they just want their oil. Until slapped with the Obama pay people out proposal I don’t think they really gave it much of a thought. We are talking about a company that was going to give out 2 billion in bonuses/dividends for the first half of the year with a planned 10 billion by year end – even through this crisis. BTW that is where Obama stepped in with his “waaaaaait a minute – you ruined how many lives and are planning on giving out how much money to your investors?!?!”
We shall soon see what is real, what is fake, and what can actually pass legislation.
I was going to say something, here, but BayAreaDM accomplished what I wanted to accomplish just fine.
