Apparently there is a law in NY City that 4 hours after the snow has stopped falling that you must have your sidewalk clear of snow else you are fined $150 bucks – best part is that the Garbage Men of the city are the ones that are empowered to issue those tickets. I am not sure why I found this insanely funny, but really… SERIOUSLY? The questions that come to mind are staggering – for instance? What if the snow stops falling at 2 am? Am I to go outside and shovel the snow before 6 am? Here as an article on the topic from way back in 1996. Classic.

Good stuff
I believe all over the metro here, and it varies, you have 24 hours after the snow has stopped falling to have it cleared.
