As far as removing it the catch is Fluoride is actually ADDED into the water supply. All that needs to happen is to cease adding it - as the city in the article I posted did.

WEIRD.

I also find it a little disconcerting about fluoride in the water supply. Seems like laziness not to remove it, while I should be able to control the exposure of fluoride to me and my family. Although I can see how the government might be interested in teeth care, they seem to be sporadically concerned about health care. Maybe if antibiotics were pumping through the water supply, we'd all be healthier. Wait, they already are.

Seema Mathur over-summarizes the study. The way she reports it leaves one believing we should give our kids mercury lollipops.

The straight dope is as follows: there is absolutely no evidence of mercury preservatives causing health problems from vaccines given to children. Additionally, the majority of anti-vaccine groups are chaired by people with the advertised qualifications of "angry parent" or "parent of down's syndrome child". They are a complete joke. The Lancelot (UK) and the AMA just completed an array of longitudinal pediatric studies and guess what... no link to autism (shock!). A kid would need multiple shots a day for the extent of their childhood years for the about of mercury to exceed toxic thresholds.

How come these same parent's aren't throwing fits when their teenagers are served tuna-salad sandwiches in High School? Tuna has much more mercury than "mercury-ladened" vaccinations. So we really should join the "a Tuna Sandwich turned my kid into a Tard" Group today!

Parents of unimmunized children rely on the vast majority of kids who do get their shots, subconsciously relying on the limited degree of polio, measles, chicken pox or other pathogens found among so many protected kids. However, this strategy is failing given the increased numbers of (otherwise intelligent) parents adopting the no-vaccine line and the increasing circulation of new antigens (e.g.; 2009 measles outbreak in public school systems across 4 states). As a matter of concequence, the CDC is reporting that they are now seeing outbreaks that look different, concentrated among intentionally unimmunized people.

Let's hope this anti-innoculation trend dies a smallpox-like death. I propose to make it a federal crime under child neglect and abuse statutes against parents who deny their kids safe modern medicine (such as proper vaccination). Very similar to the statutes that allow prosecution of parents who withhold medical care to children based on religious beliefs. The kids don't have a say... yet their parent's have no problem "rolling the dice" on their behalf in the face of some true pathogenic killers.

This has multiple threads taking place. Is this a message about HIV-positive teenagers feeling their rights are infringed upon because they have to tell potential partners about their infection? This seems so waaaaaay out there as to be almost unbelievable as a position to promote. Then the core message changes and delves into the abortion debate that has little to do with the primary effort dealing with HIV infection.

This is a swirling choatic piece. The only thing missing is a section devoted to instructing teenagers how to build nuclear weapons.

Upon further investigation, it seems that the author's Irish family and my own would have been on opposing sides of "the Troubles". Eh... water under the bridge.

Really well-done, although instead of "Academy Award Winning Director" it could have said "By the Academy Award-Winning Director of Another Movie That Won an Academy Award". Also "By the Producer of Another Movie That Won an Academy Award or Was Critically Acclaimed"

this was interesting. however the presented premise maybe somewhat ill-informed based upon my casual observation. first, there is a spliced in segment of chechnyan kids (not iragis) with deformities. this video was shot in the early 90s and was attributed to the affects of prenatal neglect, rampant drug abuse, and a culture offering no empathy to the innocent victims of this inhumane injustice. secondly, the poppy fields are left standing not to "line the pockets" of the coalilition forces but to solidify peace. as the primary cash crop in the country, a "slash and burn" campaign would turn all of the competing tribes against us.

the one area that i do resonate with is that of haliburton. the offered multi-billion dollar no-bid award to this company is a textbook definition of conflict of interest AND monopolistic power.

Another good article on the NFL situation, covering more angles:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=clayton_john&id=4965069

"Owners are using this uncapped year to test the resolve and unity of the players. The uncapped year also buys owners time to see if they can agree on an acceptable revenue-sharing plan."

Jones will likely never face any type of reprimand for the claims of hiding or distorting data.
Why?
Hadley CRU doesn't generate data. All the data they work with exists at the sources it was derived from.
As far as the Fox excerpt, if you were to understand the implication of Jones' statement in a scientific/mathematical context, the Jones' quote actually contradicts the article's claim.

But it does make good propaganda for the neocon corporate socialists.

I like to hope that the NFL learns quickly what the NBA is just realizing this season - only a very few are worth a ton of money. Also, many owners (even Dan Snyder) have lost money in the economic bust, so he may not go apeshit with the salaries. As the article points out, the difference between the leagues is that the NFL system is basically a one-year threat. Frankly, expect to see informal collusion between owners in terms of not overpaying players. Furthermore, unlike the NBA and MLB, money does not win championships. There are too many players and too many variables. The aforementioned Snyder has been throwing money at a crap team for years now.

When I look at my kids, I truly want to believe that we (the Human race) will be able to unite and strive towards a common goal related to solving the problems that endanger our lifestyles and even our very existence.

Intellectually I feel this maybe too much to ask of our strict neocortex hardwiring. We evolved to interpret impending dangers on a compressed temporal scale... threats that come at us in a split second. The pace of global climate change remains outside of the range of our perception. Once we add elements of serial catastrophy, such as; 9/11, Dot-bomb, the "Great Panic", Two baseless Wars, Unprecedented Debt, Growing Pandemic and/or Vaccine Fears, shifting powerbase from west to east, etc., etc. - we've now set the stage to logically devalue the priority that the impending environmental collapse should hold with us.

We've given up the ability to rationalize a proper defense when everything we hear about requires some type of rational defense.

When I look at my kids I'm struck by their true innocence. They've no way to interpret what is in store for them in their futures. Unfortunately, I coming to believe that I'll be the last in a long line of Fathers to be able to look upon his kids within a relatively safe home in a relatively peaceful neighborhood with adequate clean water and plentiful food.

To say my next thought pertains to a painful feeling of guilt and shame is a true understatement.

This is not a partisan issue - that is my only point. Just because someone is D, R, liberal, or conservative does not make them wrong or right on this issue. Unless I unsuccessfully read between the lines, the subject of this particular post has nothing to do with the Fed, pointless wars, or anything else. Are our actions fucking up the world and upsetting the natural balance? YES. Does the future look bleak unless we make changes in our behavior? YES. Do TV pundits laughing about how an extreme snowstorm disproves global warming make them looks stupid? YES. If you are completely disregarding discussion merely because of some of the people involved, well I guess that's your choice.

The "Green Movement" is trivial in it's current mainstream incarnation. IMHO of course.

Blindly partisan? Move past the Left/Right paradigm and realize the labels are just boxes to put the cattle into. Have the policies really changed with a Republican or a Democrat in control? No they have not. The U.S. is still engaged in mindless conflicts around the world, and we have no business being there.

We live under the third central bank to exist in the U.S. since it's conception. I don't think this one will be taken down as the other two were, and I agree with the paraphrased statement "... a central bank issuing currency is a greater threat to our nation than a standing army."

Unless we address, and deal with who is actually running things, it will be nigh impossible to accomplish anything which will stand the test of time.

The bottomer line: Once again the greedy are taking a serious issue and turning it into a money making/control oriented venture. As I have always said - if you really want to solve a problem you can. These people do not - they want to make money.

To me, here's the bottom-line: there is BIG money on both sides. BIG MONEY. When you talk about Gore making money off the issue, that is small change compared to what Big Business will save by not considering the repercussions of their actions. As Bill Nye said, this is not a Liberal or Conservative issue, yet it is being spun that way. That does not progress the discussion at all. "Scientists are trying to steal your jobs and cripple the economy!" That is bullshit. When you put the "Green Movement" in quotes, you trivialize it. When you bring up Barack's peace prize as a response to his environmental policies, you come off as blindly partisan.

Breaking news: there is always going to be money involved on both sides of any issue. That is the good and bad about Capitalism. I would rather be on the side that increases the chances that my kids and grandkids aren't dodging twisters daily on their raft home in WaterWorld, U.S.A.

"Regardless of Ideology, the systems underlying homostasis within our fragile ecosystem and the enveloping environment that contains it are under stress." is a statement I think we can agree on.

As usual very well put. We do need to act now. However, every government has lost credibility and I have zero confidence in any of those with the power to help us all act to make changes in how we use our finite resources. Oil is the currency of the world, make no mistake this is not conspiracy theory.

I grow more apathetic on a daily basis. Our childrens children's future has already been sold into the tax debt slavery.

I'm not versed in the "Green movement" outside of common sources of mass-produced information. And come to think about it, this serves as a good example of a hypothesis that I'm developing about the source for such obvious discontent held by many (including blood relatives of my own).

I believe (it is only a belief) that people have thoroughly tried, judged, and convicted the Climate Sciences through wrongly identifying it as being the same as the "Green Movement". And this is where conspiracy theories and ideologies expounding upon accusations of collusion run rampant (sans a small handful of very stupid climate scientists over the past year). The theory of the carbon cycle is no less valid than the Germ theory. It is a proven entity. Do Liberals, Independents, Conservatives, and now Tea-party people get sick? Yes. And these same people are expediting the carbon cycle through lifestyles that leverage internal combustion technologies for energy. Now if this carbon theory is being leveraged by a people with duplicitous aims... that is something completely different than discrediting the Science behind the Movement. The Movement chose the Science and not the other way around.

Another point being utilized can be categorized as a focus on the "now" at the expense of an understanding of the future. Yes, I believe any legislation dealing with the economy and the climate should be based on solid evidence. No, I'm not willing to "live like an Indian in a Teepee" as a popular conservative broadcaster said while condeming the Movement at the expense of the Science.

Regardless of Ideology, the systems underlying homostasis within our fragile ecosystem and the enveloping environment that contains it are under stress.

Either we deal with this now... or our resistance will equate to history's worst case of human selfishness when considering one's children and one's children's children.

To be free, by the assumed definition, one has to be alive to express and enjoy said freedom. Dead people are not free. We (America) are currently making choices counter to this definition for future generations of Americans (please refer to the Mars example in an earlier post). And by this paradigm, are we not promoting the opposite of freedom upon those without a voice?

Are we, as the human species, screwing up the planet? Yes. Is climate change science being handled as science should be handled? No. This is where I have a big problem with the "Green Movement", and deciding upon an enforced individual "Carbon Footprint" allotment.

United Nations - No thanks. Your rights come from Government. They are numbered. They can be taken away.

United States Constitutional Republic - Yes, please. Your rights come from the creator. They are non-enumerable. They cannot be taken away, they are unalienable.

Green World Order - http://www.foxnews.com/projects/pdf/022510_greeneconomy.pdf

It's working out for Spain, right? - http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/opinion/2009385016_will26.html

I don't have the answers, I am no better than anyone else. What I do know is that when I hear "Sustainable development" I think "Agenda 21" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJp0P6eggXU

Just another useless feeder as Ted Turner has put it. I hear Margaret Sanger is to receive an award from the Smithsonian - awesome. Fits right in with Barry the War President Peace Prize winner; 1/3 of all deaths in Afghanistan, since our invasion, have occurred since our current puppet's time in office.

I feel this latest study both reinforces the position of climate science (albeit still in an embryonic state as a science... read: new) and offers us an opportunity to rethink the premise of "no debate" proposed by some Capitol Hill Leaders. The option of "no debate" is one of suicide. Again, regardless of cause - the effect of climate change will kill us. Let us agree that ongoing change is taking place then let us (as a planet) focus on remediation with all theories open for examination - human-caused, natural cycles, alien-caused, Mayan-calendar forecasted, Sub-prime Lenders are at fault, etc, etc.

In order to keep everyone thinking in the right frame of mind... at night simply look to your southeast at that little red planet called Mars. This is evidence of the carbon-cycle gone mad. And that planet, at one time, had icebergs breaking off of glaciers from climate change.

(And thank you to Thraxxus for his "equality in reporting/posting" Ethos)

Now they can point to something new to push through the Cap and Trade Climate bullshit so the "Blood and Gore" company can reap their profits, while you are being told you are bad if you don't eat your garbage.
No sh*t Sherlocks!

Hey, now I have a great excuse to get a group together at the purple church and call it an anthropological study.

Or I could not spend any money, and just wear some really tiny shorts next time I'm on a survey or dig. That should have about the same effect... maybe this can be my Masters thesis!

What a scientific study. I would have been happy to share my findings with them last time I went to a strip club....

Oddly my results and their results seems to align.

Well put as they really did a great job with the graphics along with the text - it is indeed beautiful.

To say that I am increasingly worried for my family and friends more and more each day, is an understatement. Our Supreme Court is hearing arguments today on the Patriot Act's violation of the first amendment - only one of many violations I believe. We have banks announcing that the Feds have ordered them to notify their customers of a seven day advance notice to withdraw funds from their checking accounts. Who does this benefit? What good can possibly come from making such an announcement that such a restriction may be enacted at any point in time? Is the Fed TRYING to cause a run on the banks? I can tell you that if my bank notifies me of this, I will without hesitation close the accounts - LOL, I guess I would actually be notifying them that I will be closing my accounts in seven days :)

Well I can't speak to the Mayan calendar as I can't prove or disprove an Indigenous Religion or the rudiments of said religion. However, my rationale screams, "phooey!".

The financial gang seems to feel the worst of the Commerical crisis is history and that this is further bolstered through the less-terrible news we are witnessing within the Residential realm.

What worries me is pure debt. We hand-out $500 Billion in the span of 1.5 weeks and then Congress beats the hell out of itself for 8 months to scrape together limited proof of ancillary savings amounting to $100 billion from the hybrid Healthcare reformation. Then compare this to the current expenditures were entitlements represent 75% of every dollar and you've got a Congress serving two opposing masters. You can't properly administer a Gov't who has built-in so many entitlements (yes, you are in a Socialist State right now) as to dilute any conceivable effort to stabilize the budget for a "free people".

Won't work. We've two opposing principles at hand that has broken our system of Government. Gridlock. Crap.

Wow... that is truly a beautiful website.

I once read somewhere recently that (paraphraced) if one were to speak openly about the topics the Founding Father's spoke openly about, one would be placed an a Homeland Defense list as a "person of interest".

That article hits a little to close to home for my liking!

I think you're on the right track with 2012... we used to have conversations about this in a few of my Am. Indian Studies classes, and that was in 2003/2004. Many tribes believe it will be the end of the world as we know it now, an idea that most of us were in agreement with. It's going to be one hell of a crazy ride, that's for sure.

I love how we humans destroy an eco system and then once it starts to make a comeback we do it all over again.

P.S. The "Smart"Senator won't understand one word of what you wrote as you failed to attach any benjamins to it.

upon further review of alexyktylor, she should run for mayor of atlanta.

her platform would be very broad. but she isn't shy about delving deep into a perceived social problem. for example: don't do booty-hole sex or you'll have to have ass surgery cause of the "sit-down" problem caused by the act. also, black girls are now doing booty-hole sex to compete with the white girls and the gay boys. and there is evidently an epidemic of tobacco-chewing gay male geriatics walking around with tampons in their bottoms. WHO THE HELL KNEW THIS? i finish her videos most definitely more worldly than when I began them.

i've just added her youtube channel to my favorites.

Interesting link.

The pathogenesis of the "flying piggy flu" carried with it the majority of markers utilized for a true textbook definition of a pandemic. The rate of drift in its genetic composition was such that this specific H1N1/a virus had one or two primary courses of behavior standing before it, as of early spring last year: 1) become the next "1918 Influenza" Epidemic or 2) drift just enough so that the core virulence factors don't cause broad-demographic mortality.

Obviously, given the leverage offered through hindsight, path #2 was the winning ticket. Nevertheless, I hold the WHO, and my specifically, the CDC is high regard for taking the stance they took. Can you imagine if path #1 had taken effect? In all probability a few of you reading this post would not be here right now to read this post.

The theory of capitalistic sabotage via pharmaceutical companies is pure rubbish. Think about it... I create havoc to sell drugs now only so when a true epidemic happens no one reacts because of my past "Chicken Little" behavior and, ergo, my core market dies. How might one then keep the lights on in said Big Pharma if the very market that buys their drugs no longer exist?

Very myopic theory of fear being circulated. It annoys me completely. I'm utterly peeved. Uselessly inflamed. Genuinely Hypertensive.

Just kidding.

I listened to an interview of Dr. Wodarg and he played no games, took no sides other than the one where science and the credibility of the WHO being completely lost, especially in countries other than the U.S, can indeed see "real" Pandemics causing massive loss of life.

They have to raise the U.S. Debt ceiling otherwise the Federal government is supposed to be dissolved. That isn't going to happen so I'm sure the congress will push it right on through. Good times, good times.

So his utility of a "prop" (his textbook) showing an American flag in the "under seige" position isn't supposed to convey an attempt at a planned emotionally-based response is it?

Actually, he made some good points about how ignorant Americans are when it comes to their own country.

Oh, if anyone wants to contact him, his phone number is on the whiteboard (512-749-8200)

Police moonlight in various venues all of the time. If you were interested in the politics of fear, covert operations or even false flag planning wouldn't it be great to have your very own CIA assets?

here is my theory: the gov't knowingly allowed "sir crotch bomber" into the country. this was done to enable this "small fish" to swim to "larger fish" hiding in north america. what wasn't known was that he was going to ignite his crotch on this particular flight. this is where the cover-up begins and ends. the gov't can't illuminate too many factors here as it exposes some ongoing human intelligence efforts AS WELL AS some true incompetence involved in that specific flight.

We have yet to see the commercial real estate bubble collapse, hold on. :(

There is a lot of back and forth, and opinions as well as emotions run high on all sides - Repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act http://www.investopedia.com/articles/03/071603.asp. The toxic derivatives amount to trillions of dollars. Although its very nature seems to leave everyone guessing as to how much it really is - quadrillions has been tossed around world wide.

For me, I look to the words of the founding fathers and the danger of a private central bank issuing currency being more of a danger than a standing army.

Good post.

It is interesting to look at the changes that have taken place rather quietly since the wall came down in Berlin. One thing that might be worth some research is the economic sustainability of a service economy coupled with the required adjustment to an import-dependant consumerism. It seems troublesome to build the fundamentals of valuation based on a general ethereal basis of knowledge sans any concrete production.

I can't help but think of the party-like chaos I was caught-up in during the heydays of the dotcom era as a primary example of how we are trending as it refers to macro-economics. Bush II attempted to keep the lights on with lowering hurdles to home ownership. The resulting sub-par exotics almost collapsed our banking system. Obama has nodded towards a "green economy" but hasn't really outlined a solid plan.

Ultimately, we will all suffer a retrenching of our standard of living in this country. I fear this is going to be extremely painful in another decade or so unless innovation and entrepreneurialism in addition to research and development aren't properly incentivised by our country. Unfortunately, we current value fast food and reality shows to what the American generation that allowed us to visit the moon used as a success model.

I, for one, was humiliated upon receiving a formal letter from the Red Cross offering to engage in legal action against my person if I attempted to ship my chocolate-syrup infused breast milk again.
I fell this is blatant discrimination against the glandularly overactive.

I checked out gooh.com. This seems an orderly, quite polite semi-resolute declaration of revolution.

I guess ideologs and patriots would call this a "good start". I'm interested to see how they evolve.

Cheers :)

Indeed the Cranston Amendment was a shocker to me as well, and very much a WTF!!! moment.

I've decided to put what time and effort I have to give into a movement Thraxxus pointed out to me www.goooh.com - who knows, and why not come to mind :)

Very nice.

Extremely thought provoking via your connecting seemingly incongruous elements interwoven into an extremely solid presentation. Additionally, I'm shocked at what I learned about the Cranston Admendment. WTF?!

As of today, I will state that I do not believe there is a conscious model being employed to establish martial law or any vigorous plan to incorporate a one-world order upon the populace. I am willing to nod to the understanding that several historically-relevant actions have taken place in a very eerie order which gives rise to such speculations.

The False Flag theory has merit. However, I'd offer that patriotic-fervor is recursive. We've expended our load (so to speak) and are in a refractory period. Linear to this, I've noticed a bit of apathy and confusion reflected by the "common man" of late. Even the "Hope" bridgade with their buttons, bumperstickers, and t-shirts are more subdued.

It'll be interesting to see what degree of response comes from the "cumulative" American citizen next...

Heston is a "true grit" kind of American. I like him. We, as a culture, seem to enjoy actors that embody our ideals and he effectively has done just that. And this is why I'll be voting for Debbie from "Debbie does Dallas"...

Affirmative... Police are not for the individual citizen's protection. They are a re-active force. However, the Precogs knew I was going to write that about "Debbie" and now the Government's Moral and Ethics Force is enroute to my house.

Also, the NRA is the best we have in line with efforts to defend and protect the 2nd Admendment, so I'm all aboard.

Sadly the NRA is a shill organization and helped bring into being the first Gun Laws this country had ever seen. http://gunowners.org/ is the real constitutional deal.

Anyone confused, and continually mislead by the MSM, on the Second Amendment, and the constitution in general need only read the writings of some of the founding fathers and signers of said document - Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, etc. People seem to believe the police are personal body guards, when what they are for is when a crime has been committed (don't have the time to go into the history and "color of law" behind the whole thing), and if you are lucky where you live/are you have a 5 to 15 minute response time to your 9-1-1 call. We are endowed by our creator with the right to protect ourselves, family and property. Government does not "give" anyone rights.

Heston was a great orator. I think many people misunderstand why we have the Right to Keep and Bear Arms ( aka the 2nd Amendment). It is not to do harm to others, it is to prevent them from doing harm to you.

spectacular!

i'm surprised this was produced through amnh (american museum of natural history) as it has a national geographic feel to it. i must curtailed my true exuberance due to the stained, somewhat acidic debate taking place over a specimen of microraptor between amnh and my affiliation to the program at the kansas museum of natural history and biological diversity research center. the theory of avian evolution hangs in the balance (hold your breathe!).

good post and your objective was successfully met.
