How does this make any sense? To insure that Citigroup can pay back its TARP loan, the government is giving it a huge tax break. In other words, by foregoing Citigroup having to pay taxes, the government, aka THE U.S. CITIZEN, is paying back the very loan that was given. Steal from Peter, rob from Fred, to Pay…. Peter?

Sort of awesome really.

1) You owe me money for a loan.

2) You owe me money for the income you made this year.

3) So that you can pay me my loan back, you don’t owe me the money on your income any more.

And people wonder why our economy is screwed.
