Insurgents, Lohan, and the New Year!

Posted on 29 December 2010 by Thraxxus

I love how news is put out to the public. Often times you can find two totally unrelated stories right next to each other, and in other instances they can be stories that are not even on the same level of importance. It used to be that headlines were just that – things so important that they had to be represented first so that at a glance the reader knew what was important right now. In recent times you will be hard pressed to find any real news in your local grocery store. In fact there is actually no news near the check out line all of it having been replaced with mindless dribble.

The two headlines that I saw today that were amusing to me as they are represented as being almost as important as each other are these:
Insurgents set aside rivalries on Afghan border
Lohan has ‘classic, glamorous’ post-rehab plan

Understand that the first is for a report on how Afghanistan “insurgents” are now setting aside their historic tribal differences to attack the alien invaders – aka members of the U.N. freedom force = aka Us. The story is a glimpse into just how much some of the people of that region hate us being over there at all – sure they hate each other and have been killing each other for centuries – but they hate us more.

Meanwhile we find out that Lindsey “I dropped the ball” Lohan is getting out of rehab soon and will be voraciously launching her new product label. Apparently if you are a dead beat drug addict loser who was once the most sought after commodity in Hollywood then you can really do whatever you want and people will buy.

And people wonder why I think that Main Stream Media is now a complete joke? Its not news folks – its stories that sell.

Oh yeah – happy new year – according to some we only have one more after this one. December 2012 BABY!

Religious Timelines VS Science

Posted on 28 December 2010 by Thraxxus

There is this age old debate that we are all aware of between the realities of Religion VS those of Science. Many a heated discussion has arisen from this, as well as several religious based convictions and subsequent murders of many scientists, that have all lead nowhere. The concept that something that lacks concrete scientific evidence can have all doubts cast aside through the use of one word has always amused me. Faith.

I always felt that word to be a bit of a cop out until I heard this argument that amazed me with its simplicity. Does your father love you? Of COURSE! How do you know? Tragically the answer here is actually the word faith.

Faith aside some scientists recently announced that they found the remains (OLDEST EVER FOUND WOOT – maybe) of a human – Teeth to be precise. It turns out that they think that the remains are 400,000 years old – which would mean that humans – or at least our ancestors – were around 400,000 years ago. What does this number have to do with religion? Well in years past I have spoken to several theologians and was told by them that the world was no more that 15,000 years old, carbon dating was the great lie, and dinosaurs never actually existed – the bones being put here on Earth as  a test of faith by god.

Yeah I know.

So the problem of Faith presents itself in a different format. If the bones are found to be 400,000 years old via Carbon dating, but many people don’t have faith in carbon dating, then really what does it matter? See the problem here comes into play regarding faith. Let’s go to

  1. confidence or trust in a person or thing: faith in another’s ability
  2. belief that is not based on proof: He had faith that thehypothesis would be substantiated by fact

Note that Faith is merely the belief in something. It does not have to be about religion. But wait.. what is religion?

6. something one believes in and follows devotedly

Note the use of the word BELIEVES in that definition. Yes, Science does fall into that category. Granted many scientists would argue otherwise, going so far as to call those who don’t believe in what is called empirical evidence and being morons, however they are wrong. They believe in the idea of empirical evidence and thus accept it as being proof of something – the challenge is many other people don’t or rather may not accept a particular piece as being empirical evidence at all – but rather heresy. In fact this actually happens within the scientific community on a regular basis – take a look at the vaccine argument if you need an example.

This leaves us back where we started. If these scientists really discovered 400,000 year old bones but only the scientific community believes them then was their find really Earth shattering? The crux of the problem really comes down to perspective – if mine deems that what you are saying is bunk, then to me it is bunk, regardless of the facts.

Net Neutrality Passes!

Posted on 21 December 2010 by Thraxxus

And according to this article pisses everyone off  – both those you can imagine not liking it (big business I am looking at you) and those that defend the rights of others (ACLU I am looking at you). This all make me wonder how is it that one bill can be misinterpreted by so many people – or interpreted differently. It is after all LAW right?

It turns out that humans have this thing called perspective which has accounted for causing every single conflict, misunderstanding, relationship breakup, misreading of an email, ill conceived notion or any other situation where two people can be involved. This is the crux of all evils – and the issue with net neutrality. Sigh again.

Assange Freed

Posted on 16 December 2010 by Thraxxus

Today’s big lol moment came when Assange went free due to his bail being posted by none other that Michael Moore – the acclaimed director/producer of many films that border on – oh hell who are we kidding – many films that actually depict the USA government as being filled with total tool bags.

Everything about this situation cracks me up. As if the USA government didn’t already hate Moore now they have yet another reason to do so. Moore and Assange – is there a bigger duo of narcissistic ass hats on the Earth? Don’t get me wrong – I love the message that they are conveying – I just question the motives.

Remember, Remember the 14th of December

Posted on 14 December 2010 by Thraxxus

Guy Fawkes is a legendary, and totally misunderstood, hero of the people of Britain. The glorious tale goes something like on the 5th of November Guy planned on entering the tunnels underneath the Parliament building in London with a cart full of explosives determined to blow up every member of the governing body of the United Kingdom – minus the royal family as it were as they wouldn’t actually be there. His plan was to kill all of them to sort of reset the tyrannical rule of the kingdom. Ironically this is not actually why he did it – this is the romanticized version. Yes he wanted to down the governing body of the UK, but only because they had dismissed Catholicism years prior and he Guy was an acting agent for the Catholic Church – the plan being to supplant English rule with that tied to Rome. Nice try.

Guy Fawkes failed miserably but managed to get himself enshrined in history for a nice little diddy “Remember, Remember the 5th of November” – the day he failed. So why even talk about Guy as this is obviously not the 5th of November and nobody to date has successfully blown up any government based buildings in the UK? It has become apparent that Julian Assange is the modern day Guy Fawkes.

  1. Julian believes stoutly in his endeavors – that being to expose everybody for the scum that they truly are. Ironically the place to start would be himself. If he were to put all of his own dirty laundry out there first then really who can cast stones at him for posting the laundry of others on the proverbial line?
  2. Julian hopes to topple the yoke of tyranny that he perceives the world to be under. Realize that chances are he is totally correct about that yoke’s existence – proving it outright will be tough to be sure.
  3. Most of Julian’s information comes from somewhere else. Guy had the Church, Julian has the internet – his church. Irony is an evil bitch isn’t she.
  4. “My convictions are unfaltering. I remain true to the ideals I have expressed. This circumstance shall not shake them” – the words spoken by Assange – those of a zealot.
  5. Even though Guy failed, others carried on after him – none succeeding but they did carry on. Oddly Julian’s army of zealots is also carrying on and much more successfully than that of Guy’s – probably because it is practically impossible, the internet being what it is and all – to nail any of them down long enough to do anything about them. Poor poor governments of the world.
  6. People are now wearing masks (btw this is my favorite part) of Assange in the exact same way that they wore the Guy Fawkes ones as demonstrated in the film V for Vendetta. Pure awesome.

To quote the movie V for Vendetta:

“Good evening, London. Allow me first to apologize for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of every day routine — the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke. But in the spirit of commemoration, whereby those important events of the past, usually associated with someone’s death or the end of some awful bloody struggle, are celebrated with a nice holiday, I thought we could mark this November the 5th, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat. There are of course those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now, orders are being shouted into telephones, and men with guns will soon be on their way. Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn’t there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who’s to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you’re looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn’t be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent. Last night I sought to end that silence. Last night I destroyed the Old Bailey, to remind this country of what it has forgotten. More than 400 years ago a great citizen wished to embed the fifth of November forever in our memory. His hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice, and freedom are more than words, they are perspectives. So if you’ve seen nothing, if the crimes of this government remain unknown to you then I would suggest that you allow the fifth of November to pass unmarked. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand beside me one year from tonight, outside the gates of Parliament, and together we shall give them a fifth of November that shall never, ever be forgot.”

Wikileaks Drama!

Posted on 09 December 2010 by Thraxxus

This whole thing has be cracking up. Why Thraxxus!?!? you ask. Loads of reasons, all of which I will share:

  1. Julian Assange reminds me of a James Bond Villain.
  2. Oddly enough Julian Assange isn’t the villain. The USA has classified documents – except that only means they are classified to the USA. Assange, not being a USA citizen, couldn’t care less about that. Furthermore Assange didn’t actually steal the documents at all. He committed no acts of spying whatsoever. The documents were given to him and his wikileaks group by an American. Yes – do the math. An American gave away classified documents – why are we going after Assange again?
  3. Why is so much attention going to this Assange fellow and next to none going to the Private who supposedly gave away the classified documents? Don’t you think that actual “spy” should be a major focal point?
  4. Somehow Assange managed to have non consensual sex with two women, both were asleep, one being a hooker and the other a self proclaimed stalker of Assange. How is that even possible? Furthermore, somehow, these two women found out about each other having sex with Assange, found each other, compared notes and then decided to go to the authorities about how he had sex with them after he had sex with them but somehow without their knowledge?!?!? Does any of this shit actually add up?
  5. The acclaimed hacking group Anonymous has now gotten involved in the drama as they apparently are not happy with what a few different groups have done to Assange and the wikileaks team. Apparently some companies have unlawfully locked down the income sources of wikileaks and Anonymous has taken offense to that action – now having declared war with those organizations already hitting with deadly accuracy their first strikes against those institutions.  Anonymous is the group that assaulted Scientology. Apparently PayPal is next.
  6. DataCell is going to sue the companies that are blocking the payments to wikileaks. LOL.
  7. Wikileaks has promised to send out even more secret stuff – the debate was what was next – apparently its GITMO files.
  8. a bunch of Australians are really pissed off about how Assange is being treated.
  9. Wikileaks is mirrored all over the damn place – good luck taking them down.
  10. More petitions that will amount to nothing! I don’t think people get it – The USA government doesn’t care what you think – they proved that when they invaded Iraq after the U.N. Council voted against that act.

Not sure where this is going but I will say this – I wish I had some popcorn.

Repeal Dumb Ass Don’t Tell

Posted on 01 December 2010 by Thraxxus

This article is not about repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell – a policy that was put into effect to basically hamper the effectiveness of the USA military by leading to the dismissal of over 14.5 k qualified military personnel by a bunch of Dumb Ass politicians because apparently just being in the proximity of someone who is homosexual can make you homosexual as well – you did know that it is contagious right? Le Sigh. Best part is that it was just released that asking normal military personal lead to the findings that MOST DON’T CARE WHAT YOUR SEXUAL ORIENTATION IS. Turns out that in combat the last thing people are thinking about is sexual orientation – go figure.

Dumb Ass Don’t Tell is a secret policy employed by the United States Government to protect the chronically dumb that were somehow voted into office from their stupid becoming too obvious – leading ultimately to their dismissal. One such example was the Congressman who thought that islands could just magically flip over if they were not balanced properly in the ocean. ISLANDS CAN FLIP OVER? This implies that islands – large piece of LAND – are buoyant.

Then we have this genius who is strongly against steroids in sports – great idea right? Catch is he has no idea what the law is on the subject already.  That’s right! The guy who helps make the laws has no clue what the law actually is – at all – period – not whatsoever.

Here a Congressman asks where oil even comes from. Think that through – the very guy who votes on whether or not drilling should be allowed in Alaska doesn’t know where it comes from, how it got there, when it might come back, or really what it even is.

Dumb Ass Don’t Tell needs to be repealed immediately. These people need to be checked for intelligence – if found lacking then they should be replaced by something with a brain – like a chimp or a hamster. they should not be allowed to govern anything beyond Playdough.  These are the people that are presently setting the policies that we all have to live by and that effect everyone on the Earth in some fashion or another and their DUMB is being hidden from view – REPEAL NOW.
